As some of you know my z6 bottom end is almost done but I am still minus one head. I searched and couldnt find anything after 11 pages so Im here to get some opinions.

Should I buy a z6 head or use the b7 head that I have on my stock engine.

Im leaning more towards the b7 head if possible so I dont have to shell out cash on a head but I have a few questions that will tell me whether or not this will work.

1. Will a b7 head on a z6 block change the compression?
2. What timing belt, headgasket should I run with this combo?
3. Will I still be able to run a 92 si ecu(p28 I think) or will I have to run a different ecu?
4. Will the supertech z6 valves, springs, and retainers work on the b7 head?

If its to much of a hassel Ill just get a z6 head and be done with it but if its simple and has aftermarket parts then Ill run the b7

Thanks guys, rep to those who help me out.

1. Yes
2. b7 timing belt, z6 head gasket
3. No, you would throw a code because of the vtec
4.No, the z6 and the b7 are of different castings, but i've never tried it so maybe.

personally i would just go with a z6 head and save yourself the headache...

1. Yes
2. b7 timing belt, z6 head gasket think you could use a z6 timing belt or a a6 as well
3. No, you would throw a code because of the vtec unless vtec is disabled im running p28 maps with no vtec
