And then!!!

i did run into problems because i was a noob at building the engine i didnt bother plastigauging and the bearings spun! so i had to redo everything! and before that in hand it was leaking oil like crazy again because i didnt tighten the head down correctly!:rant2:
But you learn from your mistakes and learn to never ever do it again! lol heres what the first sign i ran into after the amazing pig squeling noise! i couldnt figure out the problem for a while:willy_nilly:

After i returned from my trip to vegas i decided to start tearing it apart

Soooooo i took out piston #4 i didnt find any bad scoring on the piston nor on the cylinder wall, but one of my rings were slightly more open than the other so i replaced it hopefully i get my comrpession back but as to checking the main bearings i came across this :/

HOLY GUACAMOLY BATMAN THOSE main bearings were DONE!

During this time i had another b18b1 crank laying around in my garage yes they are exactly the for those who were wondering i did reserach same part number
so i went ahead and got the other crank repolished

Clean build man, i didn't know you could use a b18 crank in a b20.
yeah i didnt think so ethier but you can:TU:
they are the same part#s
very nice!
i would recommend either a gsr or z10 block girdle.. will allow you to rev your motor up more reliably.
will do man thanks for the input
i was wondering why i didnt have one but im pretty sure if i do get the gsr one i might have to get a baffeld oil pan?
or will it be able to clear it?

b18/b20b/z crank have the same 89mm stroke

the b20 gets its larger displacement from the 84mm bore vs the b18's 81mm bore.

the b20a from the prelude uses an 81mm bore with 92mm stroke

very nice build!

B18C1 pan
B18C1 windage tray
B18C1 strainer (oil pump pickup)
B18C1 main bolts for the center 3 caps or an ARP main stud set for a B18C1.

Not worth it IMO unless you road race a lot and run it at high RPM for extended periods of time.

B20VTAK is weak son!
