Portmatching is basically the process of, for example:

You have TB for B18A engine.

You want to put it on D16 engine.

If you put the larger B18A TB on the D16 intake manifold, you'll notice, if you look straight through the TB, that the opening on the intake manifold is smaller than the TB.

So what portmatching does is make the inner diameter of, in this example, the IM of the D16 engine match the inner diameter of the B18A TB, so that both ports are now approximately the same size. Hence the term "portmatching."

Take all your sensors, fuel rail, hoses off. Get a B18a TB gasket for the IM. Use a marker to outline the TB hole size. Remove the gasket. You can use a Dremel or a grinder. I used a dremel which takes longer but allows more control. Buy some grinding bits and sning tubes for your dremel. Grind out the hole to the desired size and when you are done check the gasket and make sure the size is correct. Once you are done grinding you can sand it down smoother with the tubes for the dremel. When your done make sure you clean your IM before putting it on. I use the Car wash power washer sprayer thing. Let dry and put it all together again.
