Hey guys, i purchased an autometer mechanical water temperature gauge, and i do not know where to kook it up. It comes with a 1/2 NPT mounting nut that the sensor must be screwed on to. Has anyone hooked one of these up before?

^^^^^^Agreed^^^^^

Running hot coolant in car is not cool.. Especially if you don't know where to hook it up in the first place!

you can drill a hole in the t-stat housing and jbweld an bushing/adapter on there to screw the fitting on. If you ever remove the gauge, you can just screw in a plug.

and go to a local speed shop and ask them for the coolant sending unit from autometer. It has the proper voltage scale (stock sensor to autometer gauge is off by about 10 degrees) and a comes with a bunch of fitting adaptors for whatever threaded opening you want to use.

1/4 NPT tap and 29/64 drill bit. The tap kit from Home depot come with 7/16" drill bit, 15/32" might work so you don't have to force the tap so much.........
