Hello everybody,

Maybe there already exists a thread about these questions, but I couldn't find it.
I drive a Rover 216GSi, it has a Honda D16a6 with an automatic gearbox. Now I bought a scrap Rover 216GTi which has a Honda D16a9 in it.
My plan is to stick the manual gearbox from the a9 to the a6. I already was told to use the PM6 ECU from de a6, but now I was wondering if I need the engine bay wiring harness from the a9 also. The automatic gearbox has a sensor with 1 wire, the manual gearbox has a switch (I presume to switch the reversing light on or of) on the same spot..

Hope somebody can help me :)

Cheers!

You don't need the other engine harness, idk what the single wire for the auto trans is for but when I did my auto to manual conversion it did not effect anything.

The two wires from the manual trans are for the back up lights, they are run into the cabin to the wire harness where to auto shifter used to be. Do a search for auto to manual swap or it might even be in the FAQ.

Thanks mate, learned a lot from the thread I found. :)
Solved a lot of things of which I thought were problems.

I have one question left: Will the D16a6 with manual gearbox work flawlessly with the D16a9 ECU? Or do I need a ECU from a manual D16a6?
