Auto Transmission Questions

So i have two civics, one's an auto for driving in traffic.

I dont know much about automatic transmissions. My question is, are automatic transmission interchangable? Like can i use an auto tranny from a 92-95 model on a 96-00 model civic?

are any parts of the 92-95 civic auto trannys interchangable with the 96-00 model civics?

will different trend tranny be interchangable, like would an auto ex work on an auto dx, and vice versa?

u could blow it up using TNT
I believe (but not sure!) that 96-00 used a seperate brain (TCU) and not quite compatible with older models.
alright thanks transzex.

jcazz, that was just a plain dumb comment. i wish i knew how to neg. rep if it was possible.

my friend once used a ZC DOHC tranny on his 99-00 d15b non vtec and it worked perfectly; but the "slope" option was no longer available (bleh neways) and the ratios were a wee bit quicker! car acelerated like a bizzatch
I don't think its worth it in my opinion. Automatics suck for hondas, no shift kits. Its better off just keeping what you have and forget you ever thought of messing with the auto. But the ex's do have lower gears than the base models do.
In short: Yes they'll fit

Suggestion: Auto to manual swap best thing to do or just leave it alone:TU:
