I see cheap 12V Lion automotive batteries from Antigravity, WPS and Odyssey ($65 to $150)

and expensive ones from Lithium Pros ($500 to $1500)

Wondering if anyone is running a lithium ion battery yet.

been using Shorai's for the last 4-5 years. no issues. the little 14AH size cranked my wagon in -20* weather in new england.

have the big 36AH size now and think it was just under $300. It's a beast.

Thanks!

I thought Lion batteries needed a controller to safely charge them? Is it built into the battery? Any other electronics needed to swap from Lead Acid or is it just plug and play?

How well do these smaller batteries do with a street driven car with stereo equipment (less than 1k watts)? I wouldn't mind more space and then use the current battery for powering fishing lights...

you alternator should be handling that for the most part. I have had any issues with mine though and i was frequently listening to music, wipers on, low and high beams with hella 550s fogs and occasionally a light bar on. I do have an uprated alternator though.
