Well I was driving minding my own business abiding to the speedlimit like always and then another ef hatch like mine (88-91) but si edition rips by me. Then we stop at a light and I pull my pass. side window down and ask him what engine he has in his, he replies "b16", i give him an awe and say "must be fast".
He asks me what i have, and i reply "oh its just all dseries here".....he looks at me smirks and nods in disapproval and actually stops talking and pulls the window up. So then i calmly leave the light while I hear him flooring it, then he slows down to my crawling speed as im still in first and i floor it in first, he does the same and then we are even and 1 second later im 1.5 car lengths ahead, then 3 - then 7400rpm comes and i shift to second then third- by that time hes a good couple trailers away.
We meet at the next light, I pull my window down and say "not bad eh for a d-series", he is left undecisive on what to say so he pulls out his cell phone out of his pocket and insultedly says " i have a phone call to take" and turns off right from the intersection.

my hatch is still slow compared to others on the road but the 60 foot is really what killed my 1/4 mile run so its doesnt sound so cool saying "15.46.." lol
So far B related i have beaten a
-99 SIR (in canada, in the u.s. they are called si's) with b16 with intake/header/exhaust 5spd
-88 crx si with a b16a (jdm b16 with 5 speed ys1)
-not sure on year, (88-91) ef si hatch with b16 with intake/exhaust but unsure on header,5spd
-00 SIR with exhaust for sure but not sure on if they had a header and intake
- 96 ek cx hatch with b18b with I/E, stock header, b16 tranny
- 95 integra coupe, b18b I/E, stock header 5spd
- 91 integra coupe, b18a I/E, stock header but perfected ignition timing + upped Fuel pressure with regulator- basically well tuned b18 :) 5spd
- early 90's integra Gs-R with b17 vtec, I/E unsure on header, 5spd

Also today I beat a newer Infiniti SUV. Guy with his g/f passenger had a 1 second head start and I still managed to catch up and as I just shifted into 2nd and was passing them I turned and waved goodbye to his girlfriend..lol...it was priceless and my friend was there as my passenger to view it all.
Dont under estimate the d babe. ;)

not trying to dis on your story, but i highly doubt he had a B16...
if hes in the area again ill meet up with him and get him to pop this hood and snap a pic of miss B. Come to think of it, I should do that to all civics I race as proof....as honestly all I have as an advantage against other civics usually with similar power output is my lower weight, but as soon as theres a hatch like mine similar weight with a Bigger engine- it almost doesnt seem possible to beat them.

btw ryan89crx, are you Ryan- Rywire???

good kill. I can't make heads or tail of your build. What is it exactly? I think I saw that you had a built D16Z6. Is this right?
oh sorry your right....I have a z6 hybrid build I just finished. Its a d16z6 block and crank, d16y8 cylinder head, d16a6 pistons and rods and a few other goodies, all mated to a 91 si 5speed tranny with excedy stage 1 race clutch for a 95 civic si and a d16z6 flywheel. BUT thats not going into my 91 hatch for atleast a couple months, until spring time or so.

So basically ..I did that with my 1.5L d15b2 mpfi'd of course and dx trannied and read the sig for more.
Like no one on honda-tech believed me, probably because they are mostly all biased Bseries-boys, but I dont just post made up shit. Like if i was gonna lie ide say I have a v6 accord engine with 4 turbos.
So i dont really care if i lose or not now in a race as its my old tired motor that leaks 1 litre/400-500km, i have a code 9 with occasional misfires, and a stock clutch so this makes the kills funnier.
