Hi, I'm new to the forum.

I have an opportunity to buy a D16A6 with 400 miles on a full rebuild, for a damn good price. The only thing that worries me about it is that the head has been planed .08 to give a c/r of 11:1. I'd like to put in a ZC cam or possibly a Delta 260 or 272 and adjustable gear to take advantage of that c/r. Does anyone know if this will cause any problems? I know that claying the motor is the best answer, but I don't have any of it yet and I'm not really wanting to invest before I know if I'm going to have any problems. Also, does anyone know if there's going to be any timing issues with this? I'm sure there will be.

Thanks for reading.

Welcome!

Head milling retards cam and ignition timing.

Honda advises not to mill the A6 head more than 0.008". I'd fish around and see if there is anyone who knows why.
