I am lookin into getting a AEM UEGO (or another form of wideband)
I am just wondering

A: do you need engine management to avoid CEL (because of removing stock narrowband o2) or do they have adapters to feed info to the gauge and the ecu from the wideband.

B: can you install them anywhere in the exhaust(including stock o2 bungs) without causeing CEL or improper o2 readings.

thanks for any info you guys can provide.

Some WB have a narrow band output that you can feed into your stock ECU which work fine.

You might be able to install your WB sensor in a stock location however PLX recommends installing their sensor 18 inches downstream from the manifold and possible further if you have a turbo. Check with AEM on what they recommend for their product.

I tried to replace my stock narrow O2 signal with the AEM 30-4100 narrowband mode output and it didn't work, it ran rich @ 11 afr at idle. Maybe the curves aren't the same, but it is not as straightforward as I thought.

just go to the muffler shop and have them weld on an extra o2 bung. Problem solved.
