hey guys, seemingly stupid question but Im insure if it will affect anything.

I have an AEM tru time can gear, and under the single main bolt holding it to the cam, there is a fat washer, well its quite rusty and the ugliest thing in my engine bay and bothers me.

Any hamr in simply removing that bolt with the engine in the car and timing belt still installed obviously. Replacing the washer with a stainless one and torquing the bolt again...
