Well, the cams are interchangeable, Head castings basically the same. Don't see why not.
Although, I figure cam journals are line bored from the factory, Not sure if swapping upper halves would be a tolerance issue from one motor to the next.

you can use the whole head, but not just the upper rocker assembly and cam caps.
What do u mean exactly?
I found an a6 head with everything cept a rocker assembly and i only got 2 d15b7 rockers. Just not sure wut u meant sorry.

or get a complete head.

What are you working with, your lack of info has use working in the dark?

I'll assume you have a D15B7 and looking to swap the cam? Or have access to a incomplete A6 head and not sure what to do.

Run the A6 cam with a Y7/Y8 cam gear and be done.

I'm just assuming here based on you little to no info on what you are attempting to do.

basically the upper cam journals need to say with the head. you can swap the rockers over but use the same cam journals. no point unless your rockers are damaged.

well i found a ported a6 head and wanted to build an a6 engine on the side. The head i found just has valves and springs with guides and retainers all new, just no rocker.
