If you didn't have that expensive Gude head, FI would be the fastest way, but jeeze...check out Endyn soft head y8 NA pistons, they have higher compression, maybe that way...don't know if you'll have clearance problems with your cam tho. At least it was to a V8, but a GM to boot, thats got to be changed...

Time to tear down into the block and get some major work done...has your car been dyno tuned at all, if at all possible?

one model of those old gta's had a turbo 3.8 GN motor in it. it was a bad beast. i got to drive one, much faster than a 350.

you should have seen his look on his face when we came up to the next light first thing he asks was what size turbo do I have? I replied no turbo all motor. He just said its fast. I said thanks what year is that? He replied 92 trans am GTA, then I said but you were faster he said not by much. Keep in mind we left the stop light normal then i heard him step on it around 15mph so i gun it to. i had him in first and second gear till i hit third around 70mph my rpms at 8000 he was dead even with me in third around 85mph he had 2 car leights on me. I still lost in my 98 ex civic coupe but like you guys said a least I lost to a v8

Till next time, on the dyno question not yet my timing is set at dead stock witch I believe is 15*degrees

here some pictures of my car

and forgot to mention i have in the truck 2 15" woofer extra battery 2 amps speaker box total weight i guess 200lbs i just like my music

i think i mentioned this in a number of posts...

engine power isnt the only variable

did his car have a gutted interior?

does yours? do u still have that spare tire in your back rack with all your tools? are you on a full tank of gas or 1/4?? did u empty out your windshield washer fluid?

how about your suspension? is it modded? you need stiffer supsension at the back so that when you take off your car doesnt compress at the back as much, ie, eliminating the much needed traction at the front

what kind of rims do u have? how much do they weigh? what about tires? 3 year old all season or R compound?

what about transmittion? do u have the stock EX tranny? if you do, that means you have very long gears, redline 4th is 145 km/h !! Its good for the highway/city milage, but horrible at the track, consider getting a GSR tranny for tighter ratios

consider taking off your liscence plate when you race? less drag

what about defusers, got any at the back? since we dont have a unibody underbody your rear bumper acts as a small sail, pulling the BACK of the car, decreasing the traction at the front

i can go on and on and on and on........

remeber you should be more concerned with your power to weight ratio than brute HP.... why do u think crx's are so damn fast on under 200 HP motors? they can be made to weigh in under 1800 pounds!!

did his car have a gutted interior? No

do u still have that spare tire in your back rack with all your tools? Yes

are you on a full tank of gas or 1/4?? 1/4 tank

did u empty out your windshield washer fluid? Yes

how about your suspension? is it modded? Yes KYB adjustable all the way around

you need stiffer supsension at the back so that when you take off your car doesnt compress at the back as much, ie, eliminating the much needed traction at the front

what kind of rims do u have? 16"X7" Boyds

how much do they weigh? 30lbs each

what about tires? kumo 712 205/40/16 ZR Rated

Im not stupid like some people that put there stocks in the front with a cheap as passenger tire to race on that dont hook up .

what about transmittion do u have the stock EX tranny? Yes Stock with Clutch Masters Aluminum Flywheel 7.5 lb.

if you do, that means you have very long gears, redline 4th is 145 km/h !! Its good for the highway/city milage, but horrible at the track, consider getting a GSR tranny for tighter ratios

I think you made a mistake redline 4th is 145 km/h witch= 90 MPH (145 km/h),

My 3rd gear will go to 100mph @7800rpm

consider taking off your liscence plate when you race? less drag; Our you for real liscence plate I live in Califonia cop love to give tickets for shit like that

what about defusers, got any at the back? No were can i find one?

since we dont have a unibody underbody your rear bumper acts as a small sail, pulling the BACK of the car, decreasing the traction at the front

ouch !! maybe its time to strip that interior .. or at least gut the trunk ... :) nah , but weight reduction and dyno time would help for sure .. and trust me , my y7 isnt ANYTHING at all ... just wait a few months .

Cripes! 30 lb rims?

I run 14" 11 lbs rims for daily driving...I notice a huge difference in acceleration when I put on my 15" rims that are 15 lbs.

The 16's will make your final drive ratio longer and place the main weight of the wheel/tire farther from the rotational axis. Like everyone said, just switching to light weight 14 or 15 inch wheel would do you wonders.
