Alright, I've thought this back and forth, and I figured it was time to ask what you guys thought. Right now I'm running and OBD II ecu for my d16y8. I'm planning on turbo, and i've thought and debated about several options. a)spend the money, get an OBD I along with harness, and go to hondata. b)keep the obd II and get just a V-AFC (since obd II is not supported by hondata), or c)stare at my car longingly and wonder how they get those little bulbs in the headlights to work.
I was wondering what you guys think i should do. spend the extra money, or not. My reason for asking is that I've heard the OBD I does not adapt to modifications, and you have to do extra work for it to recognize those changes. is this true?

It depends on how much boost you want to run. If its not to much, like not over 14psi or so, then go B. If your goals are higher, than A.

that would be cheaper. haha. it will be daily driven, so i'm sure i won't go over 14. will a V-AFC help me tune well enough? I know it's not as specific as hondata.

B, if u plan to run over 14psi u have to go internal work neway(rods and pistons) i say just run about 10 psi tuned out and u good to go!

greddy's kit now works with the pobd2 ecu. the blue box can be reprogrammed to support up to 12 lbs of boost. but the stock honda map can only handle up to 11. so that's your limiter. 10 lbs will get you about 21- wheel power or so if properly tuned. witht he new greddy kit, make sure you get the fmic and bov as well with it, along with a boost gauge and a profect-b. i've played with manual jobs and they suck. boost creap and all kinds if issues. profectb- works first tiem every time. well spend $.
expect about $3200 for all parts total then if you do install your self that's it. if not, then expect to spend like $500 in labor
