ok so I know this isnt a honda but you guys are a welth of knowledge my cousin has a 85 chevy monte carlo he just bought its a 4..3 and the fukked up thing is when he bought it it ran fine 2 days later it wont start so I check the engine bay and find out that his distributor isnt tightend down so I turn the dizzy alll the way counter clockwise and the car fires but wont run know i know his timming is fukked so i have to pull the dizzy and set the engine at TDC is there anything special I should do once I put the dizzy back in ?? thanks in advance :beer: :beer:

If it ran, just check it with a light. I would imagine somewhere around 10* BTDC is probably good for initial.

The cam timing isn't easily adjusted like a hondas is.

TDC to start then drop in ur dizzy pull out the ol timing light adjust from there,but if it happens again you might want to look at a timing set replacement(could be slack in the chain or a slightly chipped timing gear tooth)
