Ok, i'll be doing a rebuild on my d16y8 here soon.. most likely going 12:1 c/r for a daily driver setup.

so here's a few questions I have;

It looks as if there was some overheated spots on my stock rods.. should I toss them in the garbage or what?

how can I test the crank to see if it's usable? there is a very tiny nick in one or two places.. will it need to be turned?

also there are, what looks to be impact marks at the same spot builders notch for the forged rods in a dseries.. was that from a spun bearing or what?
