the 300zx stock turbo is tiny... You would be lucky to hit 200...
no, there is no luck involved. i made 218whp on a mustang dyno with this turbo @15 psi, 440 DSMs, 2 1/2 DP, on stock internals.

find a good tuner though, the spool charateristic sucks IMHO. even though i never dyno'd with the methanol injection and cut out i am positive it was close to 240whp. with both though, it spooled and made power like a much bigger turbo.

the only reason to stay away from this turbo, is for some reason noone can rebuild them worth a damn. some might be ok, and some you might be pullin, just as soon as you put it in.

After doing some research, the late 80's 300zx was a single turbo. I was thinking about the 90's model...
I figure that instead of erasing the whole post, I will leave the information and just know that it applies only to the twin turbo...

10psi = 1.68 Pressure Ratio at sea level

at 7000 RPM at 10psi, a stock d16 will flow 24.90 lb/min... Line it up and it doesnt appear to be a good match for a d16.

Remember, this is only for a 90's model turbo...

80's models are def 60 trim T3's, the volvo guys were trying to use these and the turbo it self is different from the Thunder Coupe or SVO Mustang 60 trim T3
