  1. Engine Management
Just a heads up for anyone who is looking for a replacement a 2002 Ford Mondeo/Duratec IACV will work. Will need to splice your own wires and mount it remotely. Not necessarily recommending this but if you're on a tight budget/hurry and can't find an OEM this will do fine.

Hey guys, I have a 1999 civic lx with the d16y7 and auto trans. I've been having some issues after my y8 intake manifold swap onto my stock y7. the iacv keeps throwing the cel with code p0505. during the swap I bypassed the coolant lines going to the iacv. I was wondering if that could be part...

Hey everyone, Long time reader, first time poster so go easy on me. I have a 91 civic sedan. I'm in the UK so it was originally a 1.4 dual carb. After this I swapped in a JDM D15b, since then I have gone to a D16z6. Before going into depth I will explain my setup. Its a D16z6 using the D16z6...
  4. Forced Induction
So I put together my turbo d16y7 recently; - 00 d16y8 intake manifold with the back iacv port and the injector air hole things are plugged and not leaking - stock d16y7 throttle body with the 3 wire IACV - chipped p28 ECU So the car starts up quickly, idles at 1500RPM for a bit and then goes...

Hey D-Series.org! I am new to these forums. I know there are thousands of threads about Idle problems but I think I have a somewhat unique problem on my hands. I want to try to figure it out with you guys first before I take it to a mechanic. So my car is all stock. Auto d16y8. On cold start...

nice to meet you, i'm hondur. Does anyone think theres a market for refurbished throttle bodys? With the IACV and FITV both cleaned and serviced? My thoughts are that since i have several laying around, and idle fluctuation issues are common, its a good plan to thoroughly clean em, paint them...
  8. Engine Building
In the process of building the engine for my del Sol I've opted out of using the FITV by using a B16A TB. I feel it looks cleaner under the engine bay, and it's one less mechanical thing to deal with. But earlier today I was able to fix a friends car that had an idle issue. A b7 with a b16a...

So I know this topic has been covered 100 times before but I cant find exactly what I am looking for. So my Civic idles at about 1500 which is too high. then it idle hunts from ill say 1400-1600. the tach does not move much but you can hear the difference. so like everyone else I cleaned my...

First off, I don't make threads unless I'm completely stumped. I may just be in a bad mood and not thinking straight. Here goes. Engine is a d15beast7. I found a tear in my lower pcv hose going to the black box while changing my oil the other day. The tear was right before where the clamp...
  11. Engine Building
Installed the edelbrock performer x on my d16y8 98 civic ex and the godspeed 68mm throttle body. Now, the stock throttle body has a water jacket that the iacv hooks to, the godspeed does not. So my only thought was to cap off the tubing going from the iacv to the throttle body. Hooked everything...

ok so a couple weeks ago i tackled an engine swap, i replaced the d15b8(boat anchor) with a d15b7 picked up a different ecu p06 for the b7, started her up and it was idle surging from 1k to 3k back and forth, so i figured it was the iacv, i wound up partially covering up the fitv opening with...
  13. Naturally Aspirated
Ok so I have this crazy delusion of trying to add a y8 intake manifold from an manual onto my 98 civic with a y7 I know the issue is the iacv. I could use my y7 throttle body but I'd rather swap one out with the iacv valve on the throttle body. I was leaving towards getting a b serries...

i cleaned my IACV over the weekend because of a rough idle, now when the car warms up the idle surges/bounces between 1000-2000rpm. i didn't have this problem before cleaning the IACV and i'm 100% certain that i put things back the way they were taken out. i've since then i've retraced my steps...

Since I swapped the tb to y8, the car wont start without throttle, than wont idle, if I give it gas than its stumbles and runs like s#!t....Any ideas?? I know the...

  18. Transmission alley
Hello all, and thanks. Last weekend I did a auto to manual swap on my 99 civic ex. The tranny was from a 98 civic ex. Anyways, everything works fine, however for about the first 10 mins, the car idles from 1500-2000 up and down every few seconds or so. I plan on doing this for the fix: Any tips?

Ok, so I've been having some idle issues for a while now and finally got a day off work so I decided to clean the iacv. well after I cleaned it, it seemed to work great for about ten minutes. now it wont idle over 600 rpm and when I'm driving and I'm coming to a stop and push the clutch in, the...

Hey guys, in the morning when the car is cold the rpms shoot up about 2500 rpm which is ok but after the car warms up and even if I take the car out for a while the rpms only drop to about 1900-2000 rpms. When the car is in motion and I take out the clutch the rpms stay at 2500 and when the car...
