Default weird questions

i have a d16y8...i heard the si tranny are shorter gear ratios...i know i cannot fit the the 99-00 si on my engine i might have the opportunity to get my hands on a 90 crx si

now would i be able to fit it? i it worth the trouble?

Wont fit cause you have a hydro tranny and the 90 CRX SI tranny is cable.

No, no conversion. Too much work for too little gain. D16y8 tranny is a about as good as any d-series tranny. Steel forks, decent ratios and most of em are still lower mileage. Stuff an LSD in it and go with that unless you are bent on going the hybrid tranny path.

the only real advantage that I could see would be the slightly shorter 5th gear. But even with that said it's not worth all the effort. I mean I guess you could get a 88-91 dx/si 5th gear and use that. But I wouldn't even bother with that.
