RESEARCH!!! Please take a few mins to look around this question has been asked 1 bajillion times!!!

Yes a 1.6 D series tranny will work on a 1.5 liter engine!!

More importantly, if the tranny is the same type (cable or hydro)as your car. That is the part that decides whether the tranny will fit or not.
