Default throw out & pilot bearing question?

i just bought a exedy clutch and pressure plate w/o both bearings used off of d-series.org.
the reason why is because the seller was still using both bearings.
the question i have is.....
do i have to use exedy bearings, or can i use oem bearings...
or, do any of you all recommend better bearings?
i called exedy and they told me they could sell me the bearings for 60 bucks shipped. is that good?

You should be able to use OEM or OE-replacement bearings.

Yes...they should be the same O.D. and depth, since the clutch is probably identical to what the car came with from the factory

the clutch is a stage 1, which looks liek the origional one that cam ewith it from the factory.
is 50 bucks a good price for both bearings though? i coulda sworn they were alot cheaper than that. lol

I got an OE-replacement set that had the PP/clutch disc/throwout bearing/pilot bearing for $50 from a friend. Even though I got the hook-up on that, you shouldn't pay more than $20-$25 for both bearings.
