Default shift linkage???

yesteday I was driving and my shifter started to get really loose then all of a sudden the linkage started to drag on the floor. luckily it was in a gear, 3rd. so i stop, get out, and check it out. I decide to (since i can still drive) tie it up to another thin pipe rite next to the linkage (not the exhaust pipe) so i used my shoelace.

it came off on the trannie side and today i put it in my garage to see if i can fix it. on the linkage there is like a circle that slides into a piece sticking out from the trannie and there is a little hole on both the linkage piece and the trannie piece that connect the 2 that i guess a pin goes in. Anyone know the piece that i need. I think its a pin and a spring???
