Default 97 ex auto p0175

Was driving home from work and cel pops on. Followed but speedo/tach not working and gears basicly in limo mode. Got home turned it off, went to start....nothing. Pulled code p0175 input/turbine shaft speed sensor circuit. Is the trans toast or should I just replace that along with solenoids? Thanks

Not sure why you are worried about the transmission?

P0175 means you are running too rich.

Could be something pinching the fuel return hose, a stuck open injector, or a very slowly closing injector (generally clogged up), or could be an O2 sensor that is simply reading bad.

Pull the spark plugs out, compare them to one another, and compare them to online-available plug condition charts, and see what is happening.

Running too rich can imitate a limp mode if its killing a ton of power by not allowing the ignition system to function properly.

Side question, could a failing alternator thatÂ’s not providing enough power to said sensors be the issue?

with the known wiring issues on back side of the motor, even a Honda TSB about it, things go haywire.

download a civic tech manual and test some stuff out. Pull trans solenoids off and make sure their screens are clean.

Else try this
http://www.justanswer.com/uploads/Ho...023457_zzz.pdf

Its honda's statement basically saying flush the transmission with 3-4 drains and refills, and then replacing the linear solenoid.
