Default Clutch Engagement

Hello Everyone, I have been having issues with my ZC LSD tranny. I have a D16z6 turbo about 330whp and I had a stage 5 6 puck Clutch masters that only lasted me 2 months before the clutch glazed and didn't hold up.. I looked around and Action Clucth offered me their Stage 5 6 puck with Iron Puck and was said to be a good clutch. Clutch holds up fine but the issue now is that in order to go into gear the clutch pedal has to be all the way down the firewall and the clutch cable has no more adjustment left. I can't tighten because I run out of threads if I loosen it It just won't go in gear. I've checked the tranny and all seems fine I've seen people say it's the shift fork but From what I've read if the fork is broken it just won't work but mine works but has no adjustment. Any ideas?

Thanks.

Clutch cable is stretched (non OEM or too heavy of clutch for a cable setup) or the clutch bracket is cracking and flexing (common on 88-91).

I changed the cable twice already and seems like the same thing happens. You really think that the clutch set up is too heave for cable? Why would they sell such kit if these kind of problems can happen?

What cable are you using?

And yes a heavy clutch can wreak havoc on the cable clutch system

OEM is way better than the aftermarket options with clutch cables.

I just received a 3rd clutch cable brand is TSK and feels better but there isn't much adjustment left the pedal has about 1 inch from the firewall which is better than touching it. Ima take the clutch backet out and see how I can reinforce it.

Go twin disc and plan on two rebuilds a year due to damage from it. You have too much clutch/heavy PP issues to begin with.

Not a shift fork issue...as I the shift fork hoarder would love to sell you a dozen or more.

I won't be using ANY non oem cable again the difference is so extreme. The aftermarket cable looks so much better with metal parts and heavier feeling, but it purely sucks. The OEM cable stretched slightly initially and is now broken in and is amazing. It feels like stock. I know with what you have it will still be heavier, but I still wouldn't use aftermarket cables.
