Default Replaced 91 civic trans now won't go into gear

Just finished putting in the trans at first I thought you have to get the clutch cable fairly tight but still the same I see the trans spinning when up in the air in first gear with no load on it but once on the ground it refuses to go into any gear. Also idk if it's this new trans but it makes a low oscillating noise simewhat I think by the bellhousing area...... Thanks a lot guys

Does it go into gear while the car is not running?

Didnt even think to check that.......... But I think it would because it went into gear up in the air without using the clutch...... I think it has something to do with the throwout bearing and im gonna have to pull the trans again......

Clutch disc installed backwards?

Clutch cable not installed properly or tight enough?

this or a throw out bearing might be messed up.

hope you'll get it fixed.

I didnt touch the clutch. Only replaced the trans. I tightened the cable to where it seems like it is engaging rather good. I dont see what could of been wrong with the throwout bearing..... I used the one that came off the new trans that I put in the car rather than the old one that was in the car.. Any way of knowing if its the throwout bearing for sure before I pull the trans again?

Verify that the clutch pedal shaft didn't break first.

If it goes into gear with the car off then it is clutch related somehow, weather it be in the bellhousing area or the cable/pedal area is the question. Does the clutch arm look damaged or bent?

The shift fork? I'll check it out. But if its just completely broken it wouldnt push the pressure plate at all and it wouldnt make A sound? Ha idk if that makes sense I really dont know what im doing hopefully I can visually look at the fork and see if its damaged. I'll check out the fork first and see if I can see anything weird.....

Sounds like throwout bearing is either bad or it may have slipped off the clutch fork. If it shifts fine while the engine is not running, and you didn't pull the clutch off, then the only other thing related is the throwout bearing.

Pulled the trans again folks and I see nothing wrong. I'm not skilled in the art of throw out bearings though my old throwout bearing releases nice and tight but this one does not. I'll throw the old throw out on it just in case or I can buy a new one too. Could the throw out releasing loose be my problem? I only ask just so I don't have to pull it three times

I. Don't see anything wrong with the trans besides the fact the fork that the throwout bearing rides on is much tighter riding on the old trans that worked fine compared to my new one. The throwout in the new one even seems better condition than the old (not as much noise is all I'm going off of.) Just not sure how I can get the new trans to work wether greasing that shaft somehow or what. Thanks guys

Lol the rod I'm referring too is the one I'm pointing at and it moves back and forth much more freely than my old trans. That is the only see that I see a difference. I see nothing g wrong with the throwout bearing.

Neubie if your referring to the clutch fork that the throwout bearing rides on yes, I looked at that fork and verified it is not bent or snapped.
