Default si trans swap but for a auto

i know if u swap in a si or ex trans it helps a lot. but i have a auto and am wanting to keep it a auto my girl drives the car more then me and she cant drive a manual. does the auto have shorter gears as does the manual or is just the manual. i am just wanting to add a little extra to it and the trans we got now seems fine but i know where there is a cheap 94 si auto trans. figured i might buy it incase i mess up the one i got now

The minor differences........two in fact.............

The 5g EX tranny has a longer 4th gear (slightly lower cruising rpms) but also has higher line pressures to deal with the extra torque output.

DX has .673 4th gear 114-121 psi @ 2000 rpm in P or N
EX has .638 4th gear 121-128 psi @ 2000 rpm in P or N

both are rated at 2600 rpm stall speed, 2400-2800 rpm service limit.

IMHO keep the D15B7, A6 cam in the 1/2 tooth advanced position or use a Y7/8 cam gear and 3 degrees advance, AEM CAI, MAYBE a Z6 intake and be done!!!!!!

The D15B7 with the advanced A6 cam becomes quite torquey, esp need with the automatic tranny.

If the Z6 tranny is CHEAP ($100 or less, 75k miles or less) grab it as a spare.

ok thanks man i was hoping u would answer this one for me he is wanting 75 bucks for it and he says its from a 94 with 133,000 on it i might offer him 50 bucks and if he takes it good if not i will find another one as a back up somewhere else. thanks again
