Default honda atf alternative

i was reading the fourms and i get different views about using valvoline maxlife instead of using atf-z1,is it safe to use maxlife or is the couple dollars more worth it for the honda atf?

Ya, I just used it in the fluid change I did on my wife's CR-V. Anything with DEXRON-II in it should be good to go.

Better, no. Equivalent, maybe. I'm sure there is something out there = to Valvoline but I like Valvoline so I'll pick them when OEM isn't available.

Well I'll test my auto trans on amsoil atf to get some sort of comparison. Previously used jdm d15b trans from jdmtigerjapanese had 35,000mi on it before using amsoil atf, now it has only 55,000 miles, so Bone has me beat.
