Default d16z6 vs d15b7 tranny

Hey im building a high comp d16z6 and i have a d16z6 and a d15b7 tranny and was wondering which has better gearing and would make it faster? sorry im a b series guy this is my first stab at a d series build thanks for any input

im trying to score a D16z6 trans to replace my stock D15b7 trans at the moment

afaik

D16z6 > D16y8 > D15b7

Z6 has the better final drive compared to the B7. Z6 vs Y8 is more involved. <'95 uses aluminum shifter forks. '96+ uses steel. There's a thread around if you would like a little light reading on the subject. In any case, the EX/Si trans all have the better 4.250 final drive.

i rather snap a fork than bent one but rarely those fails unless past owners are complete doutch bags.

just grab the z6/y8/si tranny from 92-00 .
