Default How to secure a Counter-shaft bearing

I rebuilt my y7 trans a while ago and wanted to come up with a solution to secure the CS bearing without any nasty staking. Here is how its done.

Dont throw out those fucked up shift forks..

...sorry for the huge pictures, will resize later.

very nice, how its running the tranny with this mod ????

My tranny has that problem, and I was thinking about using a b-series cs bearing holder, but Im not sure if it will clear fine.

waiting for Bone to chime on this.

This was on a mitsu forum talking about crank walk
I wouldnt even THINK about a 3200 lb. pressure plate on a 7 bolt.I am pretty sure the moment you push the clutch in the crank is gonna shoot out the side of your car.

those tiny screws won't hold the CSB into place, the edges will fold over.

I was concerned at first but after reading the whole thing. it looks like it would work. I say run it and see what happens. maybe run another set of screws opossite and use locktite. looks good to me.

I very highly doubt that, for many reasons. But all we can do is disassemble it at the end of the season and see whats taken place.

The trans has been in my car for about 1000km's and all is well. This trans will be behind a 350whp motor next season so that should put it through some stress.

The shift forks are steel forks.
