Default brakes intermittently clunk & dont engage. fully loaded EH9

My girlfriend was telling me about this for a few days, I figured she was crazy or maybe the trans was still mad at me. I drove it today and recreated the problem twice in a mile drive.

its hard to explain never having encountered the issue before.. The best way I could describe it is like its slipping down a series of teeth, trying to catch onto one but it cannot. If I release the pedal, then re-engage, it goes away. I cannot figure out what I can do to re-create it, seems random to me.

Before I go and grab a good condition junk yard booster & master cylinder, or start diagnostics tomorrow, I was hoping someone else could shine some light on this. I will be checking the instruction manual, but I wanted my girly to think I'm trying to I wrote this up.

Thanks, if anyone can give me some ideas on what to try.

I replaced: front pads and rotors, rebuilt calipers, many months ago. Bled the brakes a few weeks ago when I changed the axles.

There seems to be a pinhole leak, haven't been able to find it yet

This car is ABS

From how you described it sounds like one of your calipers is stuck or not engaging smoothly. Does the car pull to one side or simply not stop at all?

It just doesn't slow down when it does that. I'll go and double check if it pulls by releasing the steering wheel when the problem occurs.

I'v got all day to mess around with the car

I'm gonna thoroughly inspect the booster for contamination, install a new M.C. Rod seal, and check the adjustment on the M.C rod.

If that doesn't fix it, I guess I'll try my other calipers, properly rebuild the ones on the car (instead of just lubing them) and just replace shit until its fixed.
