D-series post SLUT
keep tires or new street tires? track
wasn't too sure where to put this thread but this may be the right spot...
I'm going to the track this sunday (www.mpdragway.com)-car wars
& the only thing left I can think of is my tires..
I can take off slow & they spin when I floor it,they spun on the track the last couple of times I went, wasn't too big of a deal...but....
if I was to buy some cheapo goodyear tires, would it help out any?
would it bother that its a bit more weight?
would it be worth it? & would it kind of give me better traction?
I know some of them questions can only be answered if you seen my tires,
but their in pretty good shape, have about 50-60% thread left..but..
I was just wondering if I was to get me a quick little set of tires would it help out on the spin problem?
heres my month old timeslip:
MPH (I3) 68.295
any help would be appreciated on anything about what could help me out at the tracks this weekend,
I have been running a ram intake, this time it will be cold intake,
(both maybe-depending on time)
retard timing a bit
racing seats-(1 seat this time)
lightweight a couple of things
(((& I was thinking of getting some new tires to help me get some grip.)))
(I'm only going to the races with some friends & brothers to have a little fun-last time that 15.9 got me 3rd place in all-motor (4/6 cyl.) won 50$...lol
thanks for any help & sorry for the long post,
oops.srry, I have a set of stock 13" rims,

Grip... well yea you can get some new treds
bf Goodwrench g-sport tires
There like $66 each for 15's. They are sweet and hook up nice. Just get 2 for the front tires, and roll with your other ones on the back.

The Master Fabricator
I read a while back that putting winter tires on the front helped increase traction for drag racing. Find some 195-225 mm wide winter tires used somewhere for cheap and use those...
NOTE - I READ THIS IN AN IMPORT MAGAZINE. I HAVE NEVER TRIED IT PERSONALLY...
