Default YouTube..But NOT for Cars

Hey guys, fresh member here!

My name is Luke. I live in a suburb of Minneapolis, MN, I am a regional warranty specialist for a company. I have a fishing YouTube channel which I have been doing for almost 4 years now this September. Tonight, I am purchasing my second Honda Civic. My first was a 1998 Civic EX, D16y8 with a greddy turbo kit, greddy bov, RC injectors, Greddy fmic, emanage, and some other small stuff including exhaust etc. (That car blew up after 2 years in 2006). My new car is a 1997 Honda Civic EX also with a d16y8. My goal is to learn here, I want a daily driver, boosted, with 220 ish whp, that is reliable. It looks like I have a lot of reading to do! I cant wait to share my journey.

If you want a reliable and long term 220whp or so, I suggest doing a build. connecting rods and pistons, switch to head studs, and make sure the oil pump is a new one prior to the turbo setup.

I have a few things for ya if you want me to PM you, regarding turbo support. Been hanging onto some parts and wiring, but not going forward with it at this time.

If you update the fuel lines with an AN6 conversion front and back, the stock fuel pump will do just fine under 300whp.
The thing is, you dont want to keep your 21 year old fuel pump, and a factory style replacement is within spitting distance of a much better aftermarket unit.

So go for a bigger fuel pump. walbro 190, walbro 255, bosch makes a few, there are plenty of factory style denso pumps to choose, etc..

you most definitely will want new injectors. people with 160whp sometimes complain about the factory 240cc injectors. Take the opportunity to make to a modern injector that has more than one spray orifice. More holes means better atomization, and better atomization means better idle quality, better power, and better fuel mileage when you are not mashing the pedal.

Before beginning your turbo setup, I highly suggest reading up as much as possible. Leave no stone unturned. Gather as much info on all potential parts, grab a notebook and pen, and get going on figuring out what youre goal is and what you think you need to achieve it.

you can spend more money and make it very easy, IE, buying something like the black ecu from ktuned, or buying an oBD1 hodna ecu and going to xenocron for a chipping kit and DIY, or even just buying an AEM v2 plug and play aftermarket ecu.

TONS and TONS of options. So many to choose from.

Figure out your overal budget. If you break the build into chunks and do one section at a time, you can afford to spend more, and get more out of the parts!
