Default MIL/CEL diagram

My Eg doesnt have a check engine light on the intrument cluster as it is a carb engine before i did a d15b vtec swap into it.

Now the question is how can i put a check engine light on my car? I understand that 1 wire is from a A13 plug and how about the other wire? is it just a body ground or what?

and also want to put a diagnostic plug/pin on my car does any one know the diagram of that two?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks in advance
