Default D series vtec on exhaust side

Hi guys, just have a question out of curiosity, not that I'd ever attempt it. But would it be possible to build a D series with custom wiring, custom plumbing, and a custom cam to initiate VTEC on both the intake AND exhaust? Rather than just the intake side.To sort of imitate lets say a b16 yet keeping it a SOHC? Any idea if this could become a reality if one had a lot of time and money?

There is not enough space required to do it with the spark plugs in the way and all, this is why on Vtec engines they moved the spark plugs up front to benefit from intake Vtec.

With enough money and the right engineering team ... anything is possible.

I think the best you could realistically do ... without completely redesigning the head ... would be to perhaps get the VTEC lobe to always open the exhaust valves and then activate it on the intake side.

Would it be useful ... I don't have enough knowledge to make a conjecture ... but VTEC killers are a thing.

"freevalve" it (if Koenigsegg trademarked the name) . . . eventually all motors will go this way.

Get rid of the cams as they are pointless once you can control the valve by computer.

i think infinitis (nissans too?) are doing this.^^

seems to make sense.

having more control over valve lift through out the entire rev range should certainly be better.
