Default Fuel Rail

Could someone explain the science behind the OEM fuel rail/fuel filter washers for me.

The OEM washer has these sort of tab things on it.

I'm currently using a pair of nylon washers. No leaks. Will using these type of washers have any malice affect on the fuel system or engine?

I wouldn't think so. Nylon is more mailable.

And what kind of copper washers? (Every parts store I went to didn't have any; besides the ones that come with a fuel filter)

I've never had copper washers there. I think you're thinking about the fuel filter.

It's always been the special OEM washer and maybe a regular type washer on the fuel rail.
