Default Chipped Sleeve OK for Boost?

Hi guys,

I was planning on boosting my D17 but am concerned about some chipping on cylinder 4's sleeve. I've read that this was caused by pitting/cavitation from overheating.

My goal is to push around 170-190 hp on 8-10 psi of boost, conservatively tuned. New OEM HG and ARP studs will be going on too.

Would you guys go ahead and use the block or source a new one?

I can't link to pics right now but searching Google for "chipped cylinder honda" shows what I'm talking about. Mine is minor though, one chip on cyl. 4.

That's not a bad idea. I'd rather minimize downtime but its cheaper than sourcing a block.

That shouldnt be a problem. I would straight edge the block.

I am confused about the title tho, the sleeve isnt chipped at all.

Sorry about that. I don't have the close-up pictures from when I pulled the head anymore. Up close, you can see on the outside edge (touching cooling jacket) of the 4th cylinder sleeve, there's a small piece missing. I don't know if that part is still referred to as the sleeve.
