Default Clutch pedal assembly questions

So, I have been having an issue with my clutch lately. It started out with a no start issue. I looked around and didn't see anything wrong, so I adjusted the clutch switch. It worked fine for about a week and it happened again.

Still saw nothing wrong, adjusted it again. It was at this time that I noticed my clutch pedal was starting to feel different. Adjusted the clutch cable and it felt better. The next day, it felt weird again. Adjusted it again and it felt good for about 5 minutes.

It was then that I realized that my clutch pedal was crooked. I climbed underneath the dash and found that the pedal assembly is literally tearing apart.

I started researching and seeing that it is common with heavy pressure plates to do this.

On to my question.
1. Has anyone had this issue?
2. Have you reinforced it with anything?
3. Has anyone used a DA pedal assembly in an ED?
4. Is it actually stronger?

1. Yes a common issue on the ED chassis, even more so when using a heavy clutch
2. You can weld the bracket back together with bracing (others have done this)

OK, so YOU had this issue then?
What did YOU use to reinforce it?

I'm looking for someone who has actually had this problem. I started taking my car apart last night and my bracket may be way too far gone to repair and reinforce. I won't be sure until it is out, however it is split pretty bad.

When it is actually out of the car, I will post a picture.
