Default vtec wiring?

I finally received my p28 after waiting sooooooooo freaking long and am confused about how to install it.I currently have a p05 running my motor and the vtec has never been engaged.I was wondering what would happen if I just plugged in the p28?would the vtec engage at all or what would happen?I have a d16z6 in my hatch and have never ran vtec because I have alwayz just ran the stock dx p05.Help me out!

if you swapped out the dx engine for z6, then you need to find out if you also swapped engine harnesses, if you did, then you can plug the p28 right in, if not, you'll have to run the wiring for the vtec solenoid and presuure switch to the ecu pins, i believe it's in the b plug, then plug your ecu in.

damn, how the hell do i find that out?Should I just take the risk and plug the p28 in?Of course i'll disconnect the battery and plug it back in after the switch.
