so i was lookin for a jrsc on ebay and found a procharge kit for a si, it its like all the other procharger kits, it looks jus like a turbo with the hotside lopped off and a pulley attached
find out about how fast a turbo spins and devise a way to get it to spin that fast with gearing. You may be able to gear it in such a way that the optimal speed is achieved near idle, or at least at a very low rpm, and vent the extra pressure with a wastegate on the intake tubing. I'd imagine that'd be a pretty sick hiss after it winds up
I'd think you could either hack up the turbine housing to make a gear cover or examine how other supercharger kits have it done and have one machined. Its going to be a trial and error thing...
about 2.5:1 ratio on the belt drive, then 10:1 on the internal ratio, overall approx 25:1 ratio.
8000 engine rpms = 200,000 turbine rpms.
