y8 oil pump sucks
y8 has "small" ports
y8 crank has only two oiling holes in the crank

z6 oil pump is "the best"
z6 has "big" ports
z6 crank has four oiling holes

yes there are differences...
Both heads have different chamber designs
Both heads will produce different CR numbers
Both heads have different timing settings

There is a debate on which head is better..i think both have their pros and cons..Most ppl will say Z6 is better but it is curious that the Highest whp vitara setup (443whp)has a Y8 head..If im not mistaken thats the Head JFK runs.
