there is no way you did a 2 hour search and still not know that answer.....unless you are still searching gay porn and not the showcase or forced induction forum...

Ive heard that stock crank and cylinder walls will hold up to around 700whp.

*((((("heard")))))

That's as long as you dont detonate.

If your gonna be running pump gas dont go above 18-20psi, or you will suffer the consequences, especially on a dd; but if you stay under 20 no worries!! =)

I'd rather be safe than sorry when running that kind of boost.

Nah!! Of course sleeving is better in the long run! But it wont be necessary if he is only running pump gas on a dd. 93 octane can only take upwards of 25ish psi or so before it detonates.

So 20psi is a good safe mark to cap your boost off at, with 20psi... depending on your c/r... more than likely wont break 400whp... Soo youll be safe with those numbers.

ahhhhhhhhhhh

horrible advice in here....other than the searching comment

psi does not break things.....EVER!!!....HP/TQ does however

every car is different, and every car will have a different breaking point... dont use a block guard....they are junk....but a quick search of 5 min should have turned up that 450whp is about where you run into not if but when there will be a failier....it could happen right away or 5 years down the road....at 350 you will be more than safe assuming you have a good tune....bad detonation WILL break things regardless of power levels

and no psi will not break things...answer this question....will 25psi out of a dsm t25 translate into the same power/ torque produced by a percision 6262 at 25psi?......

Jfk78 had 603whp before he destroyed 2 sleeves, but he had wrist pin failure...

Go autoworks had 500 or so whp iirc.

I would feel safe on stock sleeves at 500whp. I wouldnt be worried about my sleeves anyways....

With my knowledge, 400whp is the known breaking point of the sleeves.

Some have pushed far more on stock sleeves.

If you were planning on pushing 450+whp, I'd invest in aftermarket sleeves.

A rough equation of longevity is: 10% mechanical health / 60% tune / 30% how you drive it.

And as was said, PSI means absolutely nothing. It's all about the WHP/TRQ produced, that determines how much stress everything is under.

Agreed, I've seen guys running a fresh setup, they get a basemap or a crappy tune and drive it like crazy, then bam the whole engine blows up and they don't understand why it happened...the tune is everything. There really isn't set hp/tq limit on stock sleeves, some people make 300whp and crack sleeves, some as stated above make 500whp+ without problems. I just found a cheap GE sleeved block, that way I never have to worry about it.

Well, with a sleeved block, you just split the block instead.

Exactly, lol.

I'd rather go through a bunch of stock-sleeved blocks than ruin one I just put a shitload of money into sleeving.

Seeing my block held 400+ fine with heavily advanced timing on E85, I see the new "magic" # to closer to 500. With modern-day tuning technology and tuning toys, I feel this is a fair estimate.

The engines are already on 14.5 psi from the factory, so I dont see who you could throw bump the boost up to 40 psi on the stock sleeves. You just gotta make sure not to break the canooter valve

You may also want to use a turbo ecabulator.
