Default 16g turbo question?

ok i recently fried a 14b turbo and bought a 16g from a friend that was suppose to be rebuilt and when i put the turbo on the car it still smoked almost as much as the 14b did..i do have a restrictor on it but im thinkin maybe its not the right size or maybe this turbo is fried as well and wasnt rebuilt so i wanna make sure i have the right restrictor on it before i say the turbo is bad and not gettin flooded from too much oil in the turbo..im running a tuner toys oil line and i was told 1/16 is the restrictor size i should be using..this setup is on a z6..

1/16th" sounds good to me. Is the oil drain on the turbo draining to the pan freely?

post up pictures of your oil drain, i am not convinced it is adequate.

or may have an internal blockage as well.

your PCV pressure may be too high which is causing the oil to go out the seals.

those are the easy things to check.

some restrictive orifices are 1/32nd
