Default ECU & Manual Swap

Since my question stems from prepping to do an Auto to Manual swap, I'm not sure if itbelongs in the Transmission or Engine Management forum, but here goes:

I know that one of the pieces I need for the swap is a manual ECU, for which I've was going to up a P2P I found out of a '96 EX 5sp. Now, since I'm concurrently working on a turbo build, I'm going to eventually end up chipping a P28.

My question is whether I should just skip the P2P for now and go with getting the P28, even though other than the swap I'm still going to be running pretty much stock for the next month or two. Also if I skip the P2P, will I be able to get a base map that will work well with my "stock" configuration?

Thanks in advance for taking the time to answer my n00bish questions.

I would do the OBD-2a to OBD-1 now and get the chipped/tuned P28. You can get it tuned now for your driving pleasure, then get it tuned later for the turbo. A lot of good tuners won't charge an arm and a leg if you've already been there for tuning.
