Default high idle

Hey i have a high idle on my g1 (it idles roughly at anyhwere between 1k-2k usually at 1500) anyways im replacing my vacuum lines here soon and i have alreayd tried adjusting the throttle cable or w.e..so if the answer isnt the vacuum lines what could it be? i have 2 exhaust leaks but im not sure if that could effect the idle. what should i check for if the vacuum lines dont fix my problem?

IACV will cause it to idle up and down not just high....As mentioned what have you changed or done to the motor? Have you adjusted the timing/idle at all? Turned the distributor to advance or retard it etc.....
