Red face VX harness on Z6

Here is the situation.

1993 Del Sol Si. Car had a GSR swap for a few years and then the engine blew. The PO dropped a VX engine, trans, ECU, and harness into it. He ran 3 wires from the ECU to the engine bay for the extra o2 wiring since the Del Sol chassis harness doesn't support the VX stuff.

I now have my built Z6 in it on the VX harness. Everything plugged up aside from the O2 (harness has plug for 5 wire and I'm using a 4 wire for now) and the EGR plug.

What am I supposed to do with the o2 wiring? I want to run the 4 wire o2 while I break the engine in on a P28. I haven't started it yet since I do not have an ECU and do not want to run on the P07.

Any insight here? Could I just get the P28 chipped to run on the 5 wire since all the wiring is there? If I want to use the 4 wire will I have to run the wires directly from the ECU or can I cut and splice a new plug for it off the 5-wire plug?

Any halp would be nice.

Oh, BTW, since the car doesn't support the EGR, I can just leave that plug dangling right?

Thanks guys.

EDIT

Some pics in case someone needs reference.

Here you see the VX o2 plug (left) and the plug coming from the 4-wire o2 sensor.

Here is the 3 wires coming into the engine bay and spliced into the harness. I cut them when I pulled the engine the other day, have not re-attached them yet.

Yes, you can just leave the EGR connector dangling, although I would suggest taping it up to keep the elements out.

No you cannot chip a P28 to use a 5-wire O2. Yes you can utilize the existing wiring for the 5 wire O2 (youll have extras), but youll need to splice in the proper 4-wire connectors for both the harness end and the 4-wire O2 end. Youll also need to re-pin the ecu connectors to ensure the each wire from the o2 is going to the proper terminal on the ecu, which is different then where they go to run the VX. Take your time, its easy to get them mixed up.

Its a bit of a pain in the ass, my rally car is a VX. Youll need pinout diagrams from here (.:FFS TechNet:.) and also wiring diagrams for the VX and the Si. Just do your homework and take the time to do it right.

Upon a 2nd read, you may have more of a challenge ahead of you since the wiring has already been altered.

How about I just delete the o2... haha

I was really hoping it would have been a simple job, but I'm regretting not just fixing my EX harness and using that instead of this VX one.

I suppose I don't have much choice at this point, thanks for the reply!
