Default I bought a ghetto-rex, many Q's follow...

i bought a 1990 CRX DX 5spd. i'll soon be doing a MPFI conversion. but i have some obstacles i need to clear first. here they are:
first, i have a bummed ignition system:

this is how i start the car every morning, first i flip the ghetto switch, then put a key (any key will do) into the white ignition thingy and turn it as normal, then i turn it back one click to use my heater, the red glowing switch kills the car, i'm assuming this is either hooked up to the dizzy (it is) or it kills the fuel pump:

here's a mystery wire that runs from inside my dizzy to the little switch under the dash:

as well as some more wires that have been hacked together:

how will this situation hamper my MPFI swap? could i procede and just wire up the new MPFI dizzy the same way until i get an ignition lock set?

you need a ESM, that would have all the wiring info you would want. also like mentioned, time for a new lock set or at least a ignition

x2 , you can also bring the pdf's to your local staples if you have one and have them print/bind it for you so your not glued to the computer screen when you need some info.

ps. if you have any issues finding the manual for your car pm me..

your dead on the money right there. before i bought it i actually called the local PD and had them run the VIN. turns out it wasn't hot.
i did buy it from a mexican though, you should have seen this car! the driverside seatbelt had been cut ON PURPOSE!!!! i was like
"dear lord and baby jesus, please help me save this honda."
I've thought about selling it but i doubt i could get much for it. i've fixed soooo many things on this car! at this point i'm going to go all out and keep her and then i'll have great memories when it looks nice.

I think you can use any ignition. Mine came out of a 4 door dx. The key is a little longer that's about it.
