Default High CR d16z6 to 1.7-1.8L ?

Good day guys!

I have a built d16z6 high CR motor with PM7 pistons in it.
Other modifications are kind of irrelevant to my question. Basically I have stripped the engine again to see if the rings are fine, and have started thinking about maybe switching the crankshaft with another one to make the stroke longer.

Have any of you attempted this? I know that bore cannot be much bigger (I run 75.5 now) only to maximum of 76mm, and that requires new pistons and rings, but staying with my current setup and just making the stroke longer, is that possible going over 90mm? Like to 95-100mm.

yes look into d17 or d18 stroker.

change out rotating assembly from d17 (01-05 civics)

i ran one for a few years at 11:1cr on 91 octane. i put a JRSC on it later.

If you are willing to get custom sleeves for the motor, 78mm is attainable.

find the supercharged d18 project in the archives, if it cannot be found on here.

SQLCIVIC I believe is the username, you will see a lot of blue in the engine bay if you find the correct one.


I believe he used custom Arias pistons along with the custom sleeves.

a simple d17 stroker does help a lot thoroughout the rpm range
