Default d15b2 with d16y8

Yes I have done research, been looking for 2~ hours and 5 pages of results. Some info is clear, other info not so much. The cars a 90 wagon 2wd with a d15b2, it needs a new head. Local yards have no ef's. I Found some y7s. I want to put the y7 head on my b2 block. I dont care for performance, I just want the car to run.

1. I will use y7 Timing belt, Correct?
2. I will use an adjustable Cam gear. Do I advance or retard it and how much?
3. I use the y7 head bolts?
4. I use the Y8 head gasket that is MLS?
5. This setup will raise compression. Would I still use 87 or will I need to run 91 octane.
6. Do I run the b2 or y7 distributor?
7. Do I use the stock b2 ECU or will I need a different one?
8. I read something about a Oil Jet, Didnt understand what they ment. Do I need to do anything with them for this swap?
9. Will the b2 intake work?
10. If i am able to keep stock ECU, will it need to be tuned?
11. Anything else I should know?

Lets make this very VERY simple.

Searching where?

As far as physical fitment, treat the d16y7 head as if it were a vtec d16y8 head

The oil jet in block allows more oil flow to head. No need to mess with it. It allows vtec heads to get the oil flow they need.

The d15b2 distributor SHOULD fit the d16y7 head.

timing belt AND camshaft gear information will MATCH what you need for a d16y8 mini me.

I would recommend that you RE-USE the d15b2 intake and exhaust assemblies.

You might need to change the timing belt part number, or even simply change the te3nsioner, but once your timing belt situation is good to go, just treat this entire setup as a simple head swap.

You will notice once done, you have some extra power, it has better fuel mileage to some degree, and overall will feel like it runs quite smoothly
