Lightbulb Need some help with my options!

So, I recently I picked up a steal (In my opinion) I bought 2 Honda Civic's A 97 Y7 with a 5 speed Manual, a 99 Y8 with an automatic, and an Y8 from a 97 Del Sol (I think) with ecu and mounts for 800$ I plan on boosting an engine and getting around 350-400 whp I know you guys kind of despise of eBay as I have seen on a few threads, but I am in high school, I do work, but still unable to get alot of money. I am a diesel truck lover and recently learned about VTEC and I thought the Idea was extremely awesome, that's where I am getting the boost idea from, anyways, back to the topic, What is my best option to get my goal as cheap and dependable as possible? Feel free to leave opinions I am new to this and you guys definitely know more than I do.

Just because you're still at school, it doesn't make the parts any less hit and miss. You're better off lowering your goals or saving for longer IMO

If you want a keeper, don't rush.

1. Select the best engine out of your collection, mate it to the manual box and fit it to the best shell.

2. Use the car for a while until you know it inside out.

3. Hatch a plan and start saving money and/or collect the bits as and when you can afford them.

4. Build.

5. Enjoy.

I'm not saying the other two aren't as helpful, but you seemed to be the closest to what I was asking, You gave a list where the others just kind of butchered me for what I said not to lol, anyways, I understand that it takes time, its not that I can't get money, I work on the water making a few hundred dollars a day, but being with college I still have a budget, I'd say the most I would like to spend is 1,500-2,000 but the main thing I am asking is I would like to know the best option with what I have, I have the 2 Y8's and the One Y7 which I have decided I am keeping, Is it worth swapping the vtec from the Y8 onto the Y7 if I am doing a boost build? And if so could you point me to a guide that could help me or do a short write up? I have both engine harnesses but I am not 100% sure how the vtec is wired, is there a separate harness that can ALMOST be a plug and play? And I don't mean connectors. I mean just splicing a few wires, or do I run completely different wires through the harness to wire it up? Like I said ANY help would be appreciated!

Keep in mind 350-400HP is a LOT in a FWD civic of this age, you will have pretty serious traction issues on street tires. 250HP in the same car with the same good street tires will be just as fast the vast majority of the time, probably spool faster, and be much cheaper to build.

Here is my old writeup on how to swap y7 wiring to vtec:

I honestly believe that if you're going for high boost you don't need vtec.
That said, picking the best head out of the three you have might be worth the extra effort in wiring.

Vtec actually works quite well for a turbo street car, less overlap on the low end helps with low speed reversion and quicker spooling, and more aggressive cams on the high end help with power generation.
