Default Motor dying at idle - d16z6, P&P, camshaft, P29

Hey everyone.

As part of my never-ending project, I had a d16z6 head built to go on the 75.5mm P29 block I had built last year. I was using a d16z6 stock head with stage 2 Bisi cam. ECU was tuned for this build.

The new head is a ported and polished d16z6 with Rocket Motorsports stage 4 camshaft, springs and Ti retainers.

The car is at my mechanic's shop. He is in the process of reassembling the car. He mentioned that he needs to keep tapping the throttle to keep the motor from dying. It won't remain idling.

I'm thinking this may be due to the need for a new tune.

My mechanic will be troubleshooting the possible causes of this symptom.

Thoughts?

Without the car right next to you it's hard to diagnose, make sure he has all coolant bled out and mechanical timing is correct, it's hard to set the ignition timing with it not idling though but you can play with it to see if it helps. Make sure there isn't a leak at the throttle body or that the proper gasket was used.
